You are now looking at the virtual blank sheet of paper onto which we will draw your construction programme by adding tasks, resources etc.
The screen area is divided into specific areas as described below.
There are several ways of adding tasks to your new file, the easiest of which is to click on the Name field of the Activity table and type the name you wish to associate with your first task, e.g. “Site Set up”, then use the cursor down arrow to move to the next line. You will note that a task has been created with a default duration (normally 5 working days) commencing on the current date and the active cell in the Activity table has moved to the next row thus:
You can now type the title of you next activity e.g. “Set-out Foundations” and select the down arrow cursor key, and so-on.
Repeat this process so that your list of tasks reads:
- Site Set Up
- Set-out Foundations Excavation Formwork Reinforcement
- Concrete
- Strike Formwork Backfill
- Dispose of balance of Arising’s
Note that CS Project will have added unique id numbers for each of the tasks listed above.
