Where an activity is broken down into two or more separate tasks, adding a second duration to an existing activity can accommodate this. In our example, if the concrete was to be poured in two batches, you could reduce the existing activity to 1 day (by one of two methods described earlier) and add a second activity on the same row. To do so, place the cursor at the start of the second duration (to the right of the existing bar line) then left mouse-click and drag to ‘draw’ the new bar thus:
A message box will appear asking:
Select Yes to create the new activity
Each element of a multiple task activity can be linked to/from in the same way as single tasks can be linked.
