Note: Some options and features may vary from the article below based on your CS Project package.
In CS Project, there are lots of options to update a project.
The following options / fields;
- Actual Start
- Actual Finish
- Actual Duration
- Remaining Duration
Will allow CS Project to automatically update / Calculate;
- Percent Complete
- Actual and Remaining Cost
- Estimated Cost at Completion
1.) To start, make sure you have an Activity Table to use.
2.) Go into the chart properties by right clicking on the bar chart > ‘Bar Chart Options’ and tick the box that reads ‘Resource Assignments’.
3.) You will need to set / change all current resources and future resources to ‘Duration Driven’. This can be done by NOT selecting ‘Effort Driven’ when first linking resources to tasks, or by double clicking on the activity, going to the ‘Resources’ tab and selecting ‘Duration’ under the Driven section.
4.) You may then go into the Updating Options located in the Progress tab. In here you will be able to specify how CS Project calculates various fields.
